A long-time contributor to Elite Racing, Steve Scott is the American record holder in the mile (3:47.69), and the most prolific miler in history. Through a remarkable career spanning the 1970s - 1990s, Steve ran a total of 136 sub-four-minute miles, more than any man in history. He was a two-time Olympian (1984, 1988), and earned the silver medal in the 1500 meters at the inaugural IAAF World Championships in Helsinki, Finland in 1983. Today, Steve is head track and cross country coach at California State University San Marcos.
